In a time when students are preparing for finals and families are putting up holiday decorations, violent acts have disrupted this normally festive season. From the mass shooting at Brown University in Rhode Island and loss of two U.S. soldiers and one civilian interpreter in Syria on Dec. 13, to the attack at Bondi Beach in Australia and murders of Hollywood director Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Reiner on Dec. 14, approximately two dozen deaths have resulted.
These events are a stark reminder of how fragile life can be. Even with thousands of miles distancing Arcadia High School from these attacks, threats of situations like these should never be taken lightly.
The Arcadia Quill wishes to remind everyone that even though times are dark right now, there is always a way forward; take a moment to remember those who have passed and to cherish the time spent with family and friends.
