Arcadia High School’s (AHS) Administrative Assistant Ms. Marianne von Kriegenbergh was recognized as Classified Employee of the Year for all of her dedication and hard work. In 2004, she began her work with Arcadia Unified School District (AUSD) as a playground lunch supervisor, and she has had a positive impact on those around her since.
After her start as a lunch supervisor, she worked as an instructional aide in physical education. At Dana Middle School, she was a health assistant, and even worked at the district office– but the majority of her time has been spent at AHS.
As a secretary to two assistant principals, Ms. Karen DuBerke and Mr. Keith Kerney, Ms. von Kriegenbergh supports them in the office so they can be active out in the campus community. She also manages event details and schedules. When asked what the most satisfying part of her job is, she replied that supporting the students is the most fulfilling.
“I’m very humbled, surprised, and appreciative. It means a lot to me because I feel that we’re a family here… it means the world to me that the work that I do here makes people feel supported,” she said.
Two of her coworkers–Principal’s Secretary Ms. Shari Rudolph and Administrative Office staff Ms. Mimi Park–are full of appreciation for Ms. von Kriegenbergh.
“From coordinating AP testing to overseeing the countless details involved in graduation, Marianne consistently works behind the scenes to ensure every major event runs seamlessly. The amount of time, care, and energy she invests in our school community often goes unseen, yet it is invaluable,” Ms. Rudolph said.
“She knows everything. She’s really kind. She’s really understanding. She’s just great in every way,” said Ms. Park.
