As graduation draws closer and the final days of high school begin to slip away, seniors are searching for ways to make the most of their remaining time together. Arcadia High School’s (AHS) ASB Senior Council took it upon themselves to provide students with opportunities to gather with friends and celebrate their accomplishments. On May 27, the ASB Senior Council hosted Senior Sunset at Salter Stadium, giving members of the Class of 2026 one final opportunity to relax and reflect on their high school experience.
At 6:00 p.m., seniors piled in with their friend groups to stake out their favorite spots on the football field, laying down their blankets and setting their own snacks and water out for the evening. Afterwards, they wandered through various fun activities, including pictures at the photobooth, playing lawn games, and enjoying mocktails and delicious snacks provided by ASB. Long lines formed for the s’mores, popcorn, and cotton candy stations, while others lined up for Chano’s Taco Truck. The remainder of the students began taking photos with their cameras, every flash capturing memories.
“My favorite part was taking pictures with friends,” senior Michelle Shen said.
Like many students, Shen appreciated the opportunity to spend time with classmates and capture memories before graduation. Throughout the evening, seniors could be seen gathering for group photos, laughing with friends, and enjoying one of their final events together as the Class of 2026.
Students were asked where they see themselves in five years. Some mentioned their dream careers, while others focused on personal goals like settling down or traveling.
“In five years, I find myself being an entrepreneur and having a business,” said senior Vito Hsu.
Hsu’s response reflected the ambition many seniors expressed as they looked ahead to college and future careers. Several students shared aspirations of becoming doctors, engineers and, most importantly, “making a ton of money.”
“I see myself being a dog mom,” said Shen.
Shen’s lighthearted response drew laughs from nearby classmates and highlighted the wide range of answers students gave. While not everyone had a detailed plan for the future, many seniors agreed that they hoped to be happy and surrounded with what they love.
