Arcadia High School (AHS) hosted the annual Clubs Takeover event during lunch on Mar. 17 and 18. With over 70 clubs and organizations on campus, tables were spread out in front of the S-Building courtyard, creating a lively and energetic experience for students to explore the different clubs at AHS. Due to the large number of clubs that AHS has, the event was spread out over two days, with each day featuring a separate selection of clubs.
The first day of Clubs Takeover was all about art, service, and interest clubs. Key Club, Arcadia ESports, Arcadia Film, Arcadia UNICEF, and Book Club are just some examples of clubs that set up tables. Each stand displayed an informational tri-fold outlining the club’s purpose, future events, and general details about what the club does. Many clubs also passed out flyers, candy, and stickers to increase their outreach.
One club, Esports, went a step further. The officer team set up an entire TV and gaming system, allowing students to play video games while at their stand. This hands-on interaction gave students a better idea of what this club is like and created an exciting mood.
“We really wanted to get as many students as possible to come over to our booth and sign up. The TV setup is usually what draws the most attention every year, so we continued that this year,” said Esports President junior Jayden Cheung.
The second day of Clubs Takeover was for STEM and civics clubs. STEM clubs included Arcadia Sports Medicine Club, Civil Engineering Club, Neuroscience and Psychology Club, and many other organizations that aim to provide students with exposure to potential work within these fields. Civics clubs ranged from Arcadia Young Democrats to Arcadia Business Association, all groups aiming to aid students in their future careers. These clubs provide students with an opportunity to explore interests in government and business.
“I walked around to a lot of different booths,” said sophomore Harmony Wong, “There were so many options for everyone depending on what they like.”
Overall, Clubs Takeover was a great opportunity for students to discover what is available to them on campus. Whether continuing past interests or discovering new ones, there was something for everyone at Clubs Takeover 2026.
