The Varsity Pep performed a variety of tricks and flips to a mashup of songs called “Nothing We Can’t Handle.”
The North Gym burst with school spirit and energy as students gathered to watch the Arcadia High School (AHS) Winter Pep Assembly on Jan. 23. The assembly honored the AHS academic teams and winter sports teams, and also featured performances from Varsity Pep, Pep Song, Orchesis, and Band.
“For Pep Squad, we have been working for months to polish our competition routine, and we were glad to showcase our hard work to everyone,” said Cheer Captain sophomore Sydney Liu. “It was a gratifying moment to watch our community be able to enjoy themselves and have fun with one another!”
ASB helped keep the assembly interactive as all students had the opportunity to participate in games like Simon Says, Hungry Hungry Hippos, and box stacking, in which competitors tried to build the highest tower within a limited time. The intense but friendly competition kept the audience laughing throughout.

Among the winter sports was the Boys Varsity Soccer team, which entered the gym with enthusiasm and pulled off a bicycle kick into their makeshift goal. (Aiden Cheung)
The Constitution Team ran out of the tunnel holding shiny trophies from past competitions and dressed up in attire embodying its team spirit. (Aiden Cheung)
