The Wellness Committee at Arcadia High School (AHS) hosted a lunch event on Oct. 28. The Rally Court was set up with tables full of tarps with acrylic paint, brushes, and plastic pumpkins. Students decorated the various sized pumpkins with creative ideas and designs. Stickers and googly eyes were also provided as decorations.
The Wellness Committee’s goal is to promote physical and social wellbeing with their activities. Participating in creative events with friends can reduce stress and anxiety, and also serves as a fun lunchtime event.
“It brought a sense of community in AHS. There were many people from different grade levels who attended the event. It was a wonderful sight to see everyone painting their own pumpkins!” sophomore Byron Lei said.
The event allowed students to kick back and relax in the midst of a stressful school day. The pumpkin painting garnered many students. All of them spread their creative wings to partake in the fun, fall event.
Students were free to take their pumpkin creations with them as fall keepsake. The Wellness Committee also recently hosted Unity Day and plans to have new events soon, such as making a gratitude tree for Thanksgiving. The committee aims to bring even more entertainment to AHS in the near future.
