Arcadia High School (AHS) students were given a minor shock when the A-building boys’ bathroom burst on the morning of Nov. 7 at 11:43 a.m.

The passing bell signaling the beginning of period 4 had just rung when a rumbling roar vibrated through A-building. Students and teachers, having hardly even settled into their seats, were immediately back out in the hallways, searching for the strange sound. Beneath the bathroom door, a puddle of water was quickly pooling out into the hallway, and teachers scrambled to call for maintenance.

With the building still trembling with the thrumming rhythm of the water flowing, students settled distractedly back into their seats while teachers attempted to continue their curriculum. Once the custodians arrived, the flood and pounding noise subsided within the next few minutes.

Students and teachers alike were grateful for the following peace, and class resumed as scheduled. While the cause remains unknown, the issue of the flooding bathroom was resolved by the quick work of AHS staff.
