Both students and teachers geared up for a unique Teachers v. Students Basketball Intramural on Nov. 1. The games took place in the North Gym during lunch and was energetic, fast-paced, and extremely demanding as the teachers and students duked it on the court. The competition was extremely fierce, and the ambition to win was even greater. The teachers were extremely organized and played as well as any other high school sports team. Some teachers that played included Mr. Mynster and Mr. Freese, who proved to be worthy competition for the students. Despite the competition, the atmosphere was not nearly as intense as a normal sporting event, and all the teams were friendly and played with good spirit. The games ran smoothly with only one minor injury sustained, which was used to the team’s advantage in a free-throw. The scores totaled to 9-5, Yessir v. Broken Ankles, and 17-14, Big Ballahs v. JNTM. As many as 40 students showed up to the games as well as a few staff members who served to make the event all the more lively. Yessir is scheduled to play the Big Ballahs in the semi-finals on December 9th. On the other end of the bracket, Black and Yellow will play the Lakers, and the Cheefers will play Get Buckets Crew for a spot in the semi-finals on Nov. 18th.
