Is Shein Legit?

You’ve probably seen a few Shein clothing ads pop up here and there when you randomly visit various websites. It’s hard to believe that their products are so cheap. Is it a scam? Or are they quality goods? In this article, we’re going to find out. Here is an article all about Shein as a company, from what it is, to what is safe to buy on the site.

As you may have already guessed, Shein is an international company. Like Forever 21, it is fast fashion, which is why items are so cheap. Based on various reviews, Shein takes a long time to ship out their items because their items have to be shipped from China first. It’s still considered to be a fairly new company, started in 2008. The motto/slogan they go by is,
“Everyone can enjoy the beauty of fashion.” The site has nearly every style of fashion you can think of, which can be good or bad.

Be careful what you order off of this questionable company. Admittedly, some items are really good quality. Check reviews and item popularity before ordering. The price is usually amazing, but you can’t always trust that the item looks exactly like the picture and is like the description. There have been various cases where a dress that was supposed to be sturdy, cotton fabric, came as stretchy, cheap material. Don’t order a lot at once because you most likely will want to return items, which is troublesome. It might cost you more to ship back internationally.

Look for coupon codes online to get free shipping from Shein. In my opinion, ordering a few items from Shein doesn’t hurt. I’ve had friends who ordered a few cute dresses for the summer, and even small travel backpacks that they got for an amazing price and loved. If you’re looking for luxury items, Shein is not the place to shop because their fabrics can appear to be cheap. I’ve watched YouTube videos where people have bought amazing dupes for Brandy Melville and Lulus. The bathing suits are worth a try, but again, don’t buy too many. In general, online shopping is always a risk. With Shein, it’s an even bigger risk because the company can be less trustworthy in comparison to larger brands. Don’t refrain from ordering off of Shein, they have really cute styles and a wide range of fashion choices to select from. Just be sure to double and triple check what you’re buying, from anything ranging from the size to type of clothing.

In all honesty, everyone’s experience with Shein is different. Not everyone gets scammed, so just shop smart and be careful of where your money is going. I believe Shein is legit because your items do eventually come, and in many cases, things do work out. So the next time you really want new clothing and feel bored with the mall, give Shein a try. After all, blogger Elisabeth McKnight claims that “the items on the site are hit or miss” and “the BEST thing you can do to improve your experience with Shein is to read the reviews of items before you purchase.”
