On May 18 to 19, Swifties all over Southern California rejoiced; Taylor Swift came to the Rose Bowl in Pasadena for her highly anticipated Reputation stadium tour! The Reputation tour, which features Swift’s sixth best selling album, consists of 53 concerts performed all around the world—with the first show performed on May 8 in Glendale, Arizona, and the last show scheduled for Nov. 21 in Tokyo, Japan. Swift claimed that this tour would be her most exciting and unique one yet, and her claims did not disappoint. With more than 60,000 upbeat fans at each Rose Bowl show, Taylor Swift has definitely made a lasting impression on everyone who attended the spectacular concert.

Before entering the show, each guest was handed a white wrist bracelet that lights up in different colors at certain points of the show. The lights sync up to the beat of each of the songs Swift performs, and even flash in different areas to create heart shapes in the audience. This gift from Swift is given as an attempt to have each audience member feel more engaged with the performance.

At the Rose Bowl performance, in addition to giving fans a light up bracelet, the setup of the stage set was designed to further allow fans to feel connected with Swift—there were three different stages that were strategically placed so that Swift could perform facing audience members in different parts of the large stadium.

To start off the evening, opening act Charli XCX performed several songs including “I Love It” and “Boom Clap” while Camila Cabello performed “Havana”, “Never Be the Same”, and even a cover of “Can’t Help Falling in Love.” After the two opening acts successfully hyped up the concert goers, Taylor Swift made a dramatic entrance into the stadium with her song, “Are You Ready For It?”, and everyone was definitely ready for her to shake things up at the Rose Bowl.

Each song from her new album, including lead single “Look What You Made Me Do” and “Delicate” were performed with intensity and passion, and the props and dancers in the background added to the energetic vibe that she brought to the show. Instead of purely singing songs from her Reputation album, Swift also delighted thousands of fans by throwing in 10 hits from previous albums, including a nostalgic mash-up of “Love Story” and “You Belong With Me”, and another mashup between “Bad Blood” and “Should’ve Said No.” As an additional surprise to all her fans in Los Angeles, Taylor Swift invited special guests to the concerts on both days. On Friday, Shawn Mendes was brought in to perform his hit “There’s Nothing Holding Me Back”, while Troye Sivan and Selena Gomez were brought out to perform “My, My, My” and “Can’t Keep My Hands to Myself.”

Taylor Swift’s performances at the Rose Bowl were a success not only for the singer, but for all of her fans. The talented artist will continue traveling around the world for her tour, so if you missed out on her performance in Los Angeles, make sure you purchase tickets for her next locations!
