To celebrate Halloween, ASB hosted a Ghostly Gathering event during lunch in the Rally Court on Oct. 31.
Right before lunch, ASB set up tables and tents filled with the activities that were going to take place. The first tent near the stairs served dyed purple lemonade. In the second tent, students were able to get face paint and temporary tattoos on their body with the assistance of an ASB member. Students also had many options of shapes to choose from for their tattoos, the most popular among students being bats, dolphins, dinosaurs, and flowers. In addition to the many design choices, there were also many color options such as black, pink, blue, and yellow. In the third tent, green and pink crown tinsels served as Halloween crowns.
“For most of these events, ASB Event Committee always begins with an action plan, where we assign designated tasks to each of the seven members of our council,” said junior ASB President Angelique Dizon. “All operations are carefully planned by each member. On the day of, we got the help of the entire ASB team to operate each of the stations. We dressed up as playing cards to celebrate the Halloween spirit!”
During the event, ASB played Halloween music such as “Ghostbusters,” “Disturbia,” and “Heads Will Roll”. As these songs were playing, Dizon along with junior ASB Secretary Jeremy Tsou and sophomore ASB Senator Ayan Haq interviewed students about their costumes.
“The ghostly gathering was a pretty fun event,” said freshmen Kalea Buchan. “I was able to get a green flower tattoo that matched my pickle costume, and I also got some of the purple lemonade. [I even got a] beautiful green tinsel crown that I put on top of my pickle costume.”
At the end of lunch, the ASB members cleaned up the Rally Court and took their group picture. The Ghostly Gathering event ended up being a fun way for students to celebrate Halloween.
