In the midst of the spooky fall season, Arcadia High School (AHS) students weren’t the only ones enjoying Halloween festivities. AHS staff–from teachers to administrators–seized the opportunity to dress up in costumes on Oct. 31, expressing their creativity at school. During lunch, staff members congregated in the staff lounge to show off their Halloween attire and participate in a lighthearted costume contest.
The four categories of the costume contest included Funniest, Most Original, Scariest, and Best Group. Wearing their elaborate costumes, staff members waited in anticipation for the winning group and individual costume-wearers to be chosen. The judges, Mr. Steven Volpe, Dr. Kyle Blotzer, and Ms. Tamra Erickson, were responsible for choosing the winners of each category.
The following participants emerged as the winners of each contest:
Funniest: Ms. Melissa Schaffer, Ms. Trish Naughtin, Ms. Claudia Grubbs
Most Original: Ms. Pin Chen
Scariest: Ms. Ashley Novak
Best Group: Administration and Office Staff
In addition to Halloween, the staff celebrated Secretary Ms. Marianne vonKriegenbergh’s birthday. The lounge was filled with the hum of laughter and conversation as the staff mingled together, enjoying a festive lunchtime with food and birthday cake to share.
