Despite the intense heat wave crashing over California resulting in the postponement of the initial event, Arcadia High School’s (AHS) Pep Squad performed their first Pep Rally of the year one week later on Sept. 13, ending the week with a performance to uplift school spirit and cheer.
Curious students and friends came to watch the dance performance; freshmen, many of whom have never seen the festivity of Apache spirit, were amazed to see the spectacle unfold. The pep squad members were also thrilled to be performing once again in the Rally Court.
For Pep Cheer Head Captain senior Simone Ball, this performance was particularly special.
“It being my ‘first last’ Pep Rally that I choreographed, and just it being the first performance of the season, is always something very exciting because we have a mix of new and old faces,” said Ball.
With the school year just beginning, Pep Squad will continue their daily practices. Their goal is to run their routines as many times as possible to ensure that as their season goes on, their performances play out smoothly.
