In celebration of the Homecoming dance which took place on Sept. 30, ASB prepared a week-long of creative themes and activities to get students in the spirit for the upcoming dance.
Mammal Monday:
Students could come to class dressed in comfortable pajamas, accompanied with their favorite stuffed animal. At lunch, they had the opportunity to make fun-sized plushies made out of socks.
Tunesday Tuesday:
Even if you couldn’t go to The Eras Tour this year, ASB gave you a second chance to pick an era to dress up. For Tuesday’s theme, students could dress up as their favorite artist, album, or song.
Newlywed Wednesday:
Guess who got married? On Wednesday, students could come to school appearing as a guest to a wedding, or even the bride and groom themselves. Later during lunch, there was a wedding ceremony along with paper ring-making stations and a photobooth.
Rhyme Without Reason Thursday:
Kim K and NBA, James Bond and Legally Blonde, merry and scary, mathlete and athlete, frat and brat; students channeled their rhyming skills and grabbed a friend to pair with for Thursday’s theme.
Spirit Friday:
Just like every year, Homecoming Spirit Week closed with a day full of Arcadia High School (AHS) pride. Grey Arcadia sweatshirts, red and yellow Arcadia hoodies, and Arcadia sports uniforms, students came to school in all the AHS clothes you can imagine! As another fun surprise, the annual Homecoming Assembly was hosted in the Salter Stadium where the Orchesis Dance Team and Pep Squad put on memorable performances. In addition, the fall sports were highlighted and the Homecoming Royalty Court participated in a series of games, where students could cheer for their fellow classmates. During lunch, there was an assortment of star crowns, glitter, and face paint to choose from. After school, there was a football game where everyone could attend wearing and cheering with Arcadia pride.
All in all, spirit week was an awesome way to kick off Homecoming week. Thank you all for participating!
