The school year is officially in full swing, and thanks to our amazing Arcadia High School (AHS) teachers and staff, we’ve had a great start. This year, we would like to welcome Mr. Chris Webb, a new Special Education teacher.
Mr. Webb was born in Southgate, CA, and moved to San Dimas right before high school. It was there he discovered his passion for teaching and started planning his future. He currently teaches Special Education at AHS and can be found in C-106. Mr. Webb started out as an instructional aide outside AHS so he could start coaching football, and that is where he got his passion for teaching. Over the years, through hard work and determination, Mr. Webb worked his way to becoming a Special Education teacher at AHS and instantly fell in love with the job.
“The longer I did it, the more I realized that this was my true calling,” said Mr. Webb.
He was drawn to teaching and wanted to work in the Special Education Department because of how “overlooked he felt that population of students is.” As he put more time in the classroom and built his hours of experience, he truly fell in love with the kids he met and the job itself.
When asked how his start at AHS has been, Mr. Webb said, “It’s going very fast, it’s like a whirlwind. It still feels so surreal to me. Everyone’s been so nice and helpful and it’s a great place to be.” Mr. Webb expressed what a dream it is to be teaching at a nice school like AHS and to be surrounded by wonderful students.
His goals for this year are to “continue to fit in and pay individual attention to all of his students’ individual needs.” Mr. Webb wants to “keep helping kids continue to be the best versions of themselves.”
Outside of his dedication to his students, Mr. Webb loves sports, hiking, camping, and the outdoors. While Mr. Webb loves all sports, his favorite sports are baseball and football. He loves staying up to date with all his favorite sports and watching the games.
It was such a pleasure to speak to Mr. Webb as he is an amazing teacher. Committed to teaching and an inspiration to all of his students, we are very happy to add him to our AHS family!
