Winter is here, which means many different winter light shows have started around our area. These light shows are a beautiful and mesmerizing night trip. Let’s see the best ones you can visit today!

The most popular and exciting by far is Lightscape. Lightscape is being held in our very own Arcadia Arboretum and has turned into an iconic LA winter night trip. The one-mile trail is dazzled with different kinds of beautiful lights and sculptures. Tickets are $39 for non-members and $36 for Arboretum members. Parking at the arboretum is $20 dollars, but free at the Santa Anita mall, with a shuttle running back and forth from the Arboretum. Lightscape will be going until Jan. 8, 2023.

Another great local light show is Electric Mile. Electric Mile is a drive-through light show held in the racetrack parking lot. It is a mile-long arranged track decked out with massive LEDs for some hypnotizing fun. This will be only the second year of Electric Mile and is expected to start later this month. Tickets start at $69.99 per car and can be bought in person, once the dates are announced.

A budget-friendly option is the Harbeck Lights Christmas show in Pasadena. This light show was created by the Harbeck family last year; they 3D printed over 600 different types of lighting materials and used other recycled materials for the show. As you drive up, you can tune into a specific radio station and the music will go along with the mesmerizing bright lights they have set up in front of their home. And the best part is, this show is completely free and accessible to everyone!

“I’ve been driving by ever since they first set up their house in 2020,” said junior Minnoli Shukla. “It is even more mesmerizing this year, and I think everyone should go!”

We hope you get the chance to go see one of these diverting light shows this winter season!
