Fashion Industry Club: Making Jewelry

During lunch on Oct. 26, Fashion Industry Club (FIC) hosted its sixth club meeting in D-107, offering a variety of activities to members and non-members. D-107 was filled with chatter, smiling faces, and loud music throughout the lunch period. Students had fun and displayed their creativity with the activities presented: hair tinseling and bracelet creation.

To make bracelets, students would line up along the side of the bracelet station and collect a variety of colorful, sparkly, and clear beads from a few officers to decorate their bracelet wire.

Other students would attend the hair tinseling station, where two officers would help attach hair tinsel to their hair.

Skimming the room, there was a variety of creative and pretty bracelet designs. D-107 was flooded with many new people who were delighted to come in and create unique bracelet designs or to receive decorative threads in their hair!

“I was not expecting so many people to come; it was a shock to me and my fellow members. We did plan a lot in advance, and it was a good experience to learn how to be more organized,” stated FIC Public Relations Officer junior Chloe Hang.

Hang also mentioned that FIC is excited to plan future events to enlighten more students about the fashion industry and inspire them to express themselves in various ways using fashion. Additionally, more events would allow officers to bond with all members, allowing for a closer connection and constructing a fun environment for all.

“If I had to change [anything], I would change the amount of materials that [FIC] brought and expect more people to come next time as [FIC officers believed that] it would only be a few people,” remarked Hang.

Despite the unexpected, FIC officers ruled this event a major success!

“I saw a lot of people having fun with their friends and making super cute bracelets! [FIC officers also] enjoyed hair tinseling as well,” concluded Hang.

Thank you to FIC for hosting this unique and fun event, an activity never seen at Arcadia High School before! With FIC being a newly chartered club for the 2022-2023 school year, we’re excited to see what they have to offer. Be sure to mark your calendars to attend their club meetings every Wednesday.
