Paddington, a fictional bear featured in books and movies, had appeared everywhere with Queen Elizabeth. Before her recent death, forms of art of Paddington and the Queen influenced many forms of media. Thus, they both create a heartwarming and lovable bond for the public.

An illustration of Paddington and Queen Elizabeth walking hand-in-hand was drawn by artist Elanor Tomlinson. The illustration was one of the last up-close drawings of Queen Elizabeth drawn. This sketch drawn during the Platinum Jubilee, the celebration of Queen Elizabeth’s 70 years of reign, escalated the bond demonstrated in other forms of art.

That was the final image of the Queen for many people – that’s what they remember, and so they associate her with Paddington,” said Ms. Jankel, the managing director of Paddington.

Although Queen Elizabeth could not attend the Jubilee Ceremony due to her poor health conditions, one video on YouTube, “Ma’amalade sandwich Your Majesty?” posted by The Royal Family features Queen Elizabeth and Paddingotn having tea together. Despite Paddington’s unmannerly behavior, they both share their ‘emergency’ marmalade sandwiches. Whilst adding humor into the clip, Queen Elizabeth and Paddington relate in an irresistible bond.

We knew Paddington and the Queen stood for… certain similar values – the idea that, be kind and polite and the world will be right,” stated James Lamont, a British co-writer.

Although Queen Elizabeth reign has ended, Paddington resonates the never-ending spirit of Elizabeth, a kindhearted and courteous Queen

However, Paddington’s first impression with the Queen is filled with discourteous behavior shown through the video. Paddington proceeds to drink all the tea directly from the teapot. Soon after, as he reaches to pour Queen Elizabeth a cup of tea, Paddington smothers the complementary snack across the table. Despite their differences, virtues such as toleration and kindness towards people and strangers closely resemble each other.

In memory of Queen Elizabeth II, tributes were placed at the royal parks. To remind mourners of the great reign Queen Elizabeth brought upon the United Kingdom, Paddington is seen as a similar figure. Paddington teddies and marmalade sandwiches were frequently brought to the royal parks. As of now, a request was made not to leave anymore.

Lisa Li, an AHS freshmen, truly misses Queen Elizabeth, “After Queen Elizabeth ‘s death, Paddington’s tweet ‘Thank you ma ‘am, for everything’ really brought me to tears. The friendship between the queen and the cartoon character extends until after her death, and may she rest in peace.”

The touching and everlasting bond between Elizabeth and Paddington still remains present. Although Elizabeth passed away, Paddington took after Queen Elizabeth and her polite and graceful words for all of the United Kingdom.
