Brief: ASB Hosts Back to Schoop Event

Stephanie Wang, News Editor

On Aug. 18, the second day of the new school year, ASB hosted Back to Schoop, its first school-wide bonding event of the school year, where AHS students of all grade levels escaped the heat to enjoy sorbet and fun activities.

Lining up in the Quad to receive their sorbet, students chose from mango, strawberry, pina colada, and rainbow flavors, and topped their cups off with fruity pebbles, sour gummy worms, and gummy bears.

As students enjoyed their desserts, ASB Student Commissioner Jaimie Lee invited volunteers to participate in partner events. For the first event, 10 participants attempted to slap dollops of whipped cream off their forearms into their partners’ mouths. After two rounds of “whip slap”, Lee then invited six other students onto the stage, where they competed in pairs standing back-to-front to finish bowls of sorbet.

Back to Schoop presented an exciting start to the 2022-23 school year, allowing students of all grade levels to catch up with friends after a summer apart. Thank you to everyone who showed up, and we look forward to future bonding events later throughout the school year!
