The four-member Quiz Bowl Team A ended the 2021-2022 school year with a spectacular showing at the High School National Championship Tournament, hosted by the National Academic Quiz Tournaments on May 28 in Atlanta, Georgia.

Together, the team consisting of seniors Ryan Sun, Amogh Kulkarni, Brian Lam, and junior Joshua Sujo finished 5th overall out of 272 competing teams, losing in the quarterfinals of the tournament after advancing through ten preliminary games with a 9-1 record and then seven more rounds of playoffs.

To qualify for the national tournament, the team finished 1st at a regional tournament, the Canyon Crest Powered Points Tournament V, with a perfect 9-0 record earlier in the year.

Before the tournament began on Saturday, May 28, the team explored Atlanta on Thursday and Friday, visiting the world-famous World of Coca-Cola museum, the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta, and Emory University, where Kulkarni will be attending in the fall.

Congratulations to Sun, Kulkarni, Lam, and Sujo for their incredible performance this year, and we look forward to seeing the members of Quiz Bowl compete again next year!
