After a draining year online, the Arcadia Stage Theatre Company is back! Arcadia Stage has a variety of productions planned for this upcoming season, including Broadway musicals and backstories to some renowned characters.

On Nov. 11, 12, and 13, the company will be performing Peter and the Starcatcher, a story that entails the backstory of the famous Disney character Peter Pan. The story explores the depths of greed and despair and the power of friendship.

“I am so excited for everyone to see this show,” stated Advanced Theatre student junior Emilie Conner. “This is our first major production back in person and it is a good way to return. The lighting, sound, visuals, and acting are really good and work together to produce an amazing show!”

The second major production of the year will be Mamma Mia: A Broadway Musical and will be showing on Mar. 17, 18, and 19. This story is about a young girl trying to find her father on the night before her wedding.

Mamma Mia is probably the show I am most eager for,” said Advanced Theatre student Pia Wolf. “It is an iconic story with iconic music and I am so thrilled that we are doing it. I also love ABBA, which is the band whose music the musical is based on, so that also makes me excited.”

Beginning Theatre will be showcasing its talents through two productions: WinterFest and One-Act Festival. WinterFest will take place on Dec. 16 and it will consist of holiday-themed one-acts that aim to spark the holiday spirit in the audience. One-Act Festival will take place on May 17, 2022, and it will contain multiple one-act scenes that are sure to take you on an emotional journey.

Lastly, Intermediate Theatre will be putting on a production of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time on May 12,13, and 14. This show is about a 15-year-old boy named Christopher, who is extremely intelligent. He takes it upon himself to solve the murder of his dog Wellington and he carefully records each and every detail of the crime. However, his father forbids his detective work but his detective work takes him on a life-changing journey that transforms his world.

The upcoming plays by the Arcadia Stage Theatre Company excite many students, parents, teachers, and community members. We cannot wait to see how the company takes on these shows and we wish them a good season!
