On Sept. 18, the annual Apache Walk was held on campus. The Apache Walk is a fundraiser based walkathon hosted by the Music Club to gather funds for the musical groups at AHS, including Band, Choir, Orchestra, Color Guard, and Percussion. The donations could be made flat rate or per lap, but either way, had to add up to at least $60 total.

From 8 to 11 a.m, students walked laps around a designated area spanning nearly the entire campus. For many students, the collective gathering was a rare chance to be able to hang out with friends in different music ensembles.

I loved that this included all music programs at Arcadia because I was able to talk to a lot of my friends in orchestra as well as meet new people outside of band!” said sophomore Aruna Ananthanarayanan. Aruna is a flautist and, in addition to serving as Band Council’s Historian, took all the photos featured in this article.

Donations are still coming in, and though the total amount has yet to be tallied, Vice President of Fundraising Mrs. Lee says that they are nearing their goal of $25,000.

“There are still pledges coming in and we are hoping to be pretty close to the goal.”
