Juniors to Seniors

Giselle Yeh, Staff Writer

In elementary school, we saw those six years as short and fun. In middle school, we saw those three years as tiring and carefree. Now, in high school, we see these four years as many things. From crazy fun hours to stressful days, each school year is a lesson learned and a lesson taught. Along with 2016 leaving, in came in 2017, with the end of the school year right behind it. As 2017’s seniors get ready to pack their bags to their desired colleges, this year’s juniors get ready for their last year of high school. Here are some thoughts this year’s juniors had about junior year and going on to senior year.

How do you feel becoming a senior so soon?

“I feel relieved that I am finally going to be a senior soon and can finally start relaxing and letting go.” -Justin Lee, 11

“I don’t think that becoming a senior is going to be that much of a change, other than going off campus I feel like I’ll still have to study just as hard as any other year and it definitely won’t be as relaxing as planned.” -Ryan Poon, 11

“I’m very excited and nervous at the same time. Becoming a senior means that we’re just one step away from getting out of high school and becoming independent. However, this is also the part that makes me nervous because after that, there is a whole wide world of unknowns out there for us to explore and there are just so many possibilities.” -Cris Jin, 11

While high school means more people and extra fun, it also means more planning and learning for the future. As many students know, junior year is a very important year, from getting your desired SAT scores to preparing on to apply for colleges. Here are some tips from this year’s juniors to the rising juniors.

What advice would you give to the upcoming juniors?

“Just keep going, you’ll get through it.” -Justin Lee, 11,

“DON’T PROCRASTINATE!!!”-Ryan Poon, 11

“If you get a bad teacher, have fun with whomever it is. Since there is nothing much you can do about it complaining won’t help so just think positive. If you’re not forced into taking a class you have no interest or future benefits in, you probably shouldn’t take it. Enjoy the rest of your high school, and don’t waste it [since] you’ll never get it back.” -Cris Jin, 11

Although it is sad that this year’s awesome seniors will be on their way to college, we wish you the best of luck with their future plans. As for the rest of us Apaches, lets make these high school years fun, exciting, and worthwhile!
