The music video starts with a man suddenly waking up in an empty apartment. As the music starts, the cameras are on Billie whose eyes seem to have been blacked out. She watches the man sleep until the cameras follow her into the hallway where she appears to be possessed by some sort of unknown force. Multiple hands wearing black gloves reach out and grab her, throwing her around. The lighting in this scene makes Billie look ghostly white as she struggles to escape the mysterious hands. They put about a dozen syringes in her until the scene goes back to her in the hallway where the cameras follow her feet as she goes from a slow walk into a forced drag. One of the final scenes is Billie being dragged around the same, confusing maze of halls by, again, a strange and unknown force that seems to have been haunting her for the entirety of the music video.

Like many of her other music videos, bury a friend was confusing, chilling, and amazing all at the same time. Upon first watching the video, viewers can’t help but feel the eeriness and uncomfortableness that the video is intended to bring. Who or what is the force that has seemingly possessed Billie?
