How to Fix a Bad Day
March 1, 2018
Just admit it, we all have those days where we feel emotionally and mentally drained, stressed out to the point of no return, and just plain hopeless. After all, we have not slept in two days, there is another big test tomorrow, and all you want to do is crawl into a hole and sleep. Luckily, there are a couple of tricks on how to turn a bad day into good.
First, shift your perspective. Rather than waking up in the morning and thinking that it is another boring day of school, try to adjust your viewpoint to thinking that a new day is a new start for opportunities and a chance to learn more. Furthermore, try to balance out your tired self with a good mood, as starting off the morning with a bad mood will cause the feeling to last throughout the day. Therefore, it is extremely important to be mentally and emotionally ready for the day starting in the morning.
Next, try to finish homework as much as possible in school, whether it is during lunchtime or free time in one of your classes. Finishing homework beforehand is super helpful because it helps to relieve a high amount of stress and gives you more free time afterward at home. As a result, you will be able to relax more and hopefully catch up on some sleep.
Finally, surround yourself with your friends. Your friends are definitely one of the best ways to keep your spirits up, so do not pull back from joking around and laughing your heads off. In fact, research shows that when you laugh, a hormone is released that causes you to feel much happier, instantly making your day better.
Although high school can be tough and there are days when we wish we could just do nothing but sleep, there is always a way to make the day better.
