Don’t Make Your Grades Ache, Catch Up During Break!
November 16, 2017
With the average family staying home for Thanksgiving Break, students tend to have a lot of free time on their hands during these nine days and will most likely end up wasting it by spending unhealthy amounts of time on their electronics. Instead of choosing to throw away this time, treat it as a blessing and a way to get ahead in class. Learning how to have productive Thanksgiving break will save you hours of suffering once you’re back in school.
There is a great chance that your teachers will assign homework over break, and what most students commonly think is that nine days is plenty of time to complete everything, and they will most likely get around to it at some time. However, this type of thinking often leads to scholars rushing to finish assignments on Sunday night. Instead of doing this, you should make a daily schedule that details every hour of your consciousness in order to ensure productivity.
When setting up your schedule, try your best to finish all assignments within the first three days of break, so you can spend the rest of it studying and getting ahead of what is asked. You need to make sure your schedule is realistic, though. For example, if you were to simply put on your schedule “study for six hours,” it most likely won’t happen. Add breaks and think realistically about how long it would take you to complete each task.
Once you have finished making your schedule, make it a little enjoyable by adding plans with friends and family. No one wants to spend their Thanksgiving break suffering; you want to make sure you’re being productive while having a good time. After your schedule is complete, you must do everything in your power to follow it. Your heart may tell you that it would rather be doing something else while you are struggling to get work done. If you find this occurring, take a couple minutes to grab a snack, recollect yourself, and get back to work. Whatever you do, don’t procrastinate, and instead think of how it will all be worth it in the end when you return from Thanksgiving break as an accomplished person while the rest of your classmates are sleep-deprived as a result of cramming all their homework into one night.
In conclusion, what every student should be highly thankful for this Thanksgiving break is the fact that there is a Thanksgiving break! Get working on your schedule as soon as possible and remember that Thanksgiving break is not only a time to get some work done, but also to spend some quality time with your loved ones and to create lasting memories together!
