Madame Christina Vaughan and Madame Nathalie Krikorian, who teach the French classes at Arcadia High School (AHS), have 102 French students in their French 1, 2, and 3 classes who ranked in the top 25% in the nation for the National French Contest, le Grand Concours.
Despite the exchange program being removed from the school in France, five dedicated students took a trip to come visit here, and stayed with five AHS students who hosted them. They were able to have an American high school experience, and visit various spots around Los Angeles.
The France 2025 trip went from Apr. 4 to Apr. 17, and there were 25 students from the French 2, French 3, and AP French classes. The students who went with Madame Vaughan were able to explore Paris, Trevoux, and Lyon. With extensive tours through Paris, the students were able to see the gems of the city. They were given the opportunity to have free time to explore certain areas with small groups. In Trevoux, the students stayed with their host families, whom they connected with in December 2024. They got to go to school with their host, see what their life is like, and go out and explore other spots nearby. Lyon, a city near Trevoux, was another spot they were able to visit and learn about.
Here is a recap of the trip with pictures from each of the spots:
