Leading up to the 2025 prom theme and location reveal, Arcadia High School’s (AHS) Prom Committee hosted Prom Spirit Week. Each day from Mar. 10 to 14, students had different creative themes to dress up to, along with lunchtime activities to participate in.
Meme Monday:

The week started off with students dressing up as their favorite internet memes. Many went all out with costumes, while others taped printed images or text on sweatshirts. Popular memes were Hyperpigmentation Girl and Chill Guy.
During lunch in the Rally Court, students attempted the “Try Not To Laugh” challenge, which focused on teacher brain rot. Brain rot is a phrase coined by Gen Z that describes pointless or trivial content consumed on the internet; much of the content does not make sense, which is part of the appeal. Teachers repeated popular brain rot phrases such as “skibidi” or “sigma,” while students tried their best not to laugh.
Tulip Tuesday:

On Tuesday, students were able to show off their floral clothing with the theme, “Tulip Tuesday.” Students wore flowery tank tops, shirts, accessories, and some even had fresh flowers to represent this spirit day.
“Tulip Tuesday just felt calm; it’s always nice to see the floral themed patterns around campus,” said freshman Fernanda Gomez-Rocha.
Field Wednesday:

Students wore sports jerseys on “Field Wednesday” to show off their favorite sports teams. Along with professional sports team jerseys, many students also chose to wear jerseys from AHS sports teams.
Competitive energy was at a peak in the Rally Court during lunch as students had the chance to test their sports knowledge with sports themed trivia. Students flipped a bottle and ran to the front, answering questions like “Which NFL player spent 33 years in prison?”
Petals vs. STEM Thursday:

Thursday’s theme was “Petals vs. STEM.” Students had the opportunity to dress in two contrasting themes. Some chose to dress up as bikers (pedals) and many as scholars (STEM). Students who dressed as pedals wore dark colors and leather jackets, while students who dressed as petals wore glasses and button down shirts.
Prom Spirit Week concluded with students decked out in school pride. Students wore a variety of AHS merchandise, such as athletics gear, academic team shirts, and more.
Pi Day Friday:

Friday was Mar. 14, also known as Pi Day. In honor of this during lunch the Link Crew hosted a “Pi a Teacher” event. During this event, students had the opportunity to purchase a pie to throw at a teacher; the pies were priced at $1 each. Students had the option to pie Mr. Paul Green, Mr. Ray Mynster, Mr. Logan Maertens, Mr. David Seiler, Mr. Mathew Wong, Mr. Kevin Markor, and Ms. Barbara Young.
“Triple pieing Mr. Mynster was cathartic,” said junior, Athena Menck. “My strategy was to combine all three pies into one to pie my teacher more efficiently. It was fun because me and my friend did it to a teacher we both have for the same period.”
Overall, students seemed to love this activity and had fun seeing their teacher with pie in their faces.
