Love and friendship filled the air at Arcadia High School (AHS) as ASB hosted “Falling For You,” a Valentine’s Day event in the Rally Court during lunch on Feb. 14. Students gathered to create DIY pipe cleaner flowers, enjoy themed refreshments, and share messages with friends.
Attendees had the opportunity to try “Cupid’s Potion,” a fruit punch drink that added a festive touch, write heartfelt notes on heart-shaped sticky notes, and leave kind messages for their friends and classmates.
The event’s lively atmosphere was enhanced by a curated playlist of Valentine’s Day themed music.
“I was really happy with how the event turned out. Many students seemed to enjoy the activities, especially the DIY pipe cleaner flower craft. We had to deal with a few challenges, like the wind moving the banner, but the Sophomore Council worked together to adapt quickly and keep everything running smoothly. It was a team effort, and that made the event successful,” said sophomore ASB president Iris Loong.
Many students came to the event to talk with their significant other or friends about receiving carnation grams. For $2 each, ASB members sold customizable carnation grams, sending sweet messages to a friend, teacher, or even that special someone.
“The free drinks and music were a win, and got everyone into the Valentine’s Day spirit,” said sophomore Nikhil Paladugu.
With creative activities, fun refreshments, and the thoughtful gesture of carnation grams, “Falling For You” brought AHS students together to celebrate the holiday in a memorable way.
