Plans for Halloween
October 17, 2017
As students grow up, most tend to shy away from the tradition of trick-or-treating while others grow an increased enthusiasm for it. In order to get a general idea as to what students plan to do for Halloween, I went around campus and asked a number of students a question: “What are your plans for Halloween?”
Freshmen Nadia Luna and Sophia Qalaad said that they are excited to take part in the Haunted House fundraiser and couldn’t wait to dress up in their spine-chilling costumes and scare the life out of people. Freshmen Nicole Zamani and Britney Chieng are also planning on going to the Haunted House together. The Haunted House fundraiser will be hosted on Friday, Oct. 20 and Saturday, Oct. 21 from 8 to 10 p.m. right here on campus! Tickets can be bought from any Pep Squad member or online at seatyourself.biz/arcadia and prices, per person, are $10 for regular admission or $12 for VIP. So make sure to check out the Haunted House and maybe grab a friend or two to join the fun!
Sophomores German Burris, Kayin Hall, and Devon Wong said that they will be spending their Halloween staying at home and handing out candy. “I haven’t really made any plans with my friends yet, so I’m not sure,” said German. Not to mention, a lot of students said they will be spending their Halloween catching up on sleep or just buying a lot of candy and eating it.
Halloween only happens once a year. You should enjoy it! Sit down with your friends and create a plan; even if that just means getting together and watching a horror movie while stuffing yourselves with candy. You can also show some spirit by dressing up for school in a costume. You can even get together with a few people and all dress to the same theme. The options are endless. All in all, don’t treat Halloween like another day.
