iPhone IOS 11 Features
October 16, 2017
Apple has recently released a new update called iOS 11 that added many new features to smartphones! One week after the iPhone 8 and X were revealed to the public, iOS 11 was launched on Tuesday, Sept. 19. According to Techradar.com, it has been released after being in the testing phase for four months. These four months have been dedicated to ensuring that Apple Users get to best out of iOS 11.
So what exactly does the new iOS 11 update add to your device? The new update boasts many iPhone X exclusive features that are not found on the iPhone 8 or 8 Plus. For instance, Apple is mixing the emoji with animations by using the iPhone X’s 3D face recognition TrueDepth camera. This gives rise to Animoji which allows you to animate the emoji using just your face. Another feature is Portrait Lighting which has been made available to iPhone 8 and 8 Plus users. Portrait Lighting allows you to use the phone to create Contour, Natural, Stage, Stage Light Mono, and Studio Lights. For iPad users, the iOS 11 offers a new approach to multitasking. It includes a dock, similar to a Mac computer, which allows you to switch from app to app at the bottom of the screen. All you have to do is swipe up to access it. For the other iPhone users, the iOS 11 revamps the Control Center by combining everything from system controls to music controls. Although it is generally the same swipe up, everything seems different with the design forcing you to get used to it. As you get used to it, it will become easier and faster to use. The iOS 11 also boasts a new Do Not Disturb feature for driving. It will stop all notifications when you are driving. This feature allows you drive safely and if you really need to get to someone, just enter the word ‘urgent’ to break through the wall. Another new feature would be Screen Recording which is located in the Control Center. When used, it captures everything happening on your screen until you stop recording. This is a great new addition for instructive and technological videos. The iOS 11 also allows users to re-crop and mark your screenshots right after they are taken so it saves the time of going back into the camera roll.
Overall, iOS 11 has received positive reviews with a five out of five review on Macworld.com. Hopefully, more people will be motivated and inclined to download the new iOS 11 update to get all if not most of the features listed above!
