Whether you’re a freshman or a senior, Arcadia High School (AHS) never ceases to offer new opportunities. However, the best tool in the world is only as good as the person who uses it. As adolescent students, we often fail to pay attention to little details and opportunities that AHS shares; they can be interesting and even life-changing for us, but when their deadlines pass or we don’t keep up to date, we miss out and sometimes give up on harnessing those chances. But, fear not! This article features all the information about AHS (hyperlinked throughout!) so that the only tab you need to bookmark is this page. Do note that this article does not fully encompass all that AHS has to offer online, but only key links that are relevant to most students.
Just in case you weren’t aware, this is the AHS website. It features almost all the information you might seek, and all you would have to do is search through it, which this article will streamline for you. Most information on the website is updated frequently.
Let’s begin with basic information. You can find out all about the school administration (names, departments, roles, photos, and contact details of principal, assistant principals, and secretaries) by hovering over the “About” tab on the main school website’s menu and clicking “Administration.” The page you reach has a menu on the left that leads you to material including:
- School accountability report cards (public comparison of schools for student achievement, environment, resources & demographics),
- Advanced placement (AP) courses offered by AHS and their test dates,
- AP test registration information and procedures,
- AHS values and mission/vision,
- Calendars for various purposes like athletics and activities,
- Attendance Office information,
- Student Resource Office (SRO),
- Student records,
- School profile (overview of opportunities),
- School site council,
- School site leadership team,
- And teachers (names, departments, contact details)!
The student bulletin is regarded as one of the most important sources for students at AHS to stay updated on latest upcoming events.
“It’s important because it always helps me know what’s going on, and shows new and fun opportunities,” said freshman Fernanda Gomez-Rocha.
From athletic teams’ tryout information to club events to counseling and career opportunities, this is a 5-minute daily read that can transform your high school experience! Set a reminder to read it, open it during a passing period, but just make sure to take out a few minutes of your day to check it out. Emails are sent every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday to remind you to read it! The Arcadia Quill (which you’re reading right now!) also provides important updates and latest local and school news.
Another essential source of information about AHS is the ASB website. Here, you can find out all about upcoming events, academic teams and student organizations, clubs, important forms and documents, and more.
If you hover over the “Academics” tab on the main school website, you can find all the department pages and curriculum guide for your school year, and if you spend a few minutes surfing through it all, you can probably find the answers to most of your questions! If you still have more queries, contact details (email IDs) of the people who can help are listed everywhere. The “Arts” tab on the main school website has all the information about performing, musical, and visual arts at AHS with the same structure.
Head to the counseling page for any questions about AHS social emotional support, college and career guidance, tutoring and studying resources and recommendations, technical help (instructions on how to navigate the online framework of AHS), and more. Also, check out the library page for AHS book catalogs, textbook information, and research suggestions.
Last but not least, one of Arcadia’s best aspects is its supportive, accessible, and welcoming community. The “Parents & Community” tab on the main school website shares lots of useful tips and is especially helpful to those new to the district.
Hopefully this article will help you get around AHS better. Good luck in your high school journey!
