On Apr. 7 a small, cute, pink cafe opened in the Westfield Santa Anita mall. This small, cute, pink cafe is none other than the Hello Kitty Cafe! As many of you may know, Hello Kitty is a fictional character created by the Japanese company Sanrio and has had many various fans from all around the world. Since 1974, Hello Kitty has been a magical character in many of our hearts. Hello Kitty’s products have ranged from dolls, stickers, greeting cards, clothes, accessories, school supplies, and stationery to purses, toasters, televisions, other home appliances, massagers, and computer equipments.

Now instead of being on the TV screen or book, Hello Kitty has its own eatery located in the center of the mall, near the Forever 21 and Kiehl’s stores. Located on the first floor, the store invites many of its fans to enjoy their menu of sweets such as cakes, cookies, and macarons. Unlike other cafes who serve sandwiches and cakes, the Hello Kitty Cafe serves their homemade sweets in their mini pink and white structure. There are also many drinks such as teas, lemonades, and coffees. Their pastries are handmade fresh daily and are said to be not only adorable but also delicious. All of the food options are shaped and designed like Hello Kitty herself. Many people so far love the Strawberry Cake and the Birthday Cake. The Strawberry Cake was so delicious, people commented that they loved it to the point of having dreams of it. The Birthday Cake takes the form of a small adorable birthday present with colorful sprinkles and Hello Kitty’s classic red bow on the top!

Some comments on the new Hello Kitty Cafe is that although it may be a bit pricey (especially the macarons), everything is cute. From the bags and boxes to the napkins and spoons, the Hello Kitty Cafe keeps Hello Kitty’s image in check with her adorableness. The cafe is open Mondays to Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Fridays from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Grab a friend and enjoy the sweets Hello Kitty herself has to offer!
