The local Arcadia Methodist Hospital of Southern California plans to participate in a partnership with Keck Medicine of the University of Southern California (USC). The purpose of this partnership is that both of these organizations want to promote access to health resources for people, especially for those in the San Gabriel Valley.

The CEO of Keck Medicine Rodney Hanners stated, “Methodist Hospital has a longstanding history of providing excellent care in the San Gabriel Valley and has the potential to be a strong partner.”

Additionally, Hanners also mentioned that the collaboration aims to provide easier access to healthcare.

Methodist Hospital is a community hospital that was founded in 1903. It provides a variety of different healthcare resources, from cardiac catheterization to electrophysiology to open-heart surgery. There are many specialists at the hospital who specialize in different medical categories; orthopedics, neurosurgery, and obstetrics, to name a few. About 50 thousand patients are treated every year.

Keck Medicine of USC is one of the only medical systems within a university that is in Los Angeles (LA). It was ranked one of the top 20 hospitals across the United States in 2020-2021. The organization provides advanced technology operated by experienced and outstanding physicians. Keck Medicine is located in the Keck Hospital of USC, Norris Cancer Hospital, USC Verdugo Hills Hospital, and 80+ clinics in places such as LA and the counties of Orange, Kern, Tulare, and Ventura.

“Methodist Hospital has been a trusted provider of healthcare to generations of patients,” CEO and president of Methodist Hospital Dan Asuman said. Ausman also mentioned that it “represents an opportunity to ensure that [the] hospital remains well-positioned to meet the health care needs of generations to come.”

This collaboration would make healthcare available to more patients, including the USC’s network of care teams, services, and facilities in the San Gabriel Valley. As an added, Methodist Hospital will also officially become part of the Keck Medicine enterprise as USC Arcadia Hospital.

Director of Marketing and Business Development at Methodist Hospital Brian Greene also plans to inform the public concerning more upcoming details about the collaboration with the two organizations on Apr. 4th.

“We are delighted to take this significant step forward with our colleagues at Methodist Hospital,” said Hanners. “We are eager to bring the strengths of our organizations together to better meet the evolving needs of our patients and the community for many years to come.”
