Toddlers vs. Teens during Easter
March 30, 2017
Have you ever wondered about the difference between how teens and toddlers react for Easter time? For one thing, teens are maturing, so they now realize that Easter is not a holiday to always celebrate. For toddlers, they have Easter egg hunts or decorating eggs for parties. Teens have too much going on, so they don’t have time to think about any sort of holiday. Easter is not a common holiday that everyone takes off. The real meaning of Easter is the celebration of Jesus’ resurrection as the Son of God, particularly in Christian faith.
Toddlers set up an Easter Day party where they play games like egg hunting, decorating eggs, and crafting. For example, there would be a treasure egg hunt where the parents would hide the eggs and the children would have to find as many as they can in a certain amount of time. Once the egg hunting is over, all the kids would gather and share how many prizes they found in the eggs. Next would be a decorating-fest of eggs for the kids to explore creatively. Another activity would be crafting cute little art creations to make decorative eggs, or anything spring-related. Easter for toddlers is a whole different experience and has an entirely different meaning because the time and fun.
During Easter, teens don’t really do anything, except for the people who attend church or celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Some teens just go on about their day without a thought of Easter existing and others reminisce in the thought of Easter being the day that Jesus resurrected. If anything, those who do celebrate Easter go to church and pray for Jesus or have a family praying session to remember the rising of the Son of God.
As you can see, teens and toddlers celebrate Easter pretty differently, because as you grow up you realize priorities, and maybe this holiday is not a priority. Toddlers celebrate the fun in this holiday to hang out with friends and turn it into an activity day. For teens, some don’t even realize that it’s Easter and have to be reminded in order to know when that holiday is. Any religious groups that celebrate Easter would normally have a session of teachings for the existence of Easter in all. A toddler makes Easter a fun holiday, whereas a teen doesn’t really party on this day.
