Daily Quarantine Routines
November 6, 2020
Quarantine is a time where you have to social distance and wear masks and a time where most schools are operating via online learning. Many students have routines during school days, but now because of COVID, students may have different routines because of the sudden change. Here are some students’ current routines and how they are different from their routines before the quarantine.
“My daily routine usually consists of my alarm clock ringing at 7:30 a.m., and then I get out of bed at 7:45 a.m. I brush my teeth, shower, and do other morning things. At 8:30 a.m. I then go to my meetings for school. I eat lunch right after school, and I do homework. I then eat dinner usually from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Whenever I feel tired, I sleep and I do the same thing the very next day. I guess I could say that COVID changed my routine by not having extracurriculars, and my current routine is more boring,” said freshman Jeffery Oo.
“At 6:45 a.m. I wake up and then eat breakfast and brush my teeth. Afterward, I do any assignments I can before school, and then I attend school. I eat lunch right afterward and do homework at 1:30 p.m. I usually finish homework at 3:00 p.m., so I watch videos and streams until dinner which is usually at 7:00 p.m. After dinner, I read a book until 11:00 p.m. which is when I go to sleep. Before COVID, I would usually leave [for] school at 7:45 a.m. and I had swim practice from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., so I would say that my routine changed a lot,” said freshman Joshua Chan.
“I wake up at 8:00 a.m. and I get ready for school. Right after school, I eat lunch then take a nap from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. or 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. If I wasn’t taking a nap, I would’ve done some homework, and then I eat dinner at 6:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. I finish the rest of my homework if I didn’t and then relax until midnight, [when] I will sleep. As of right now, my routine hasn’t changed before and after quarantine,” said freshman William Wong.
COVID has changed schools and the students within it, and because of that, most students had to change a lot of aspects of their lives including their routines. Students will have to get used to online school for the time being.
