Online Games to Play with Friends
September 16, 2020
Thanks to the lockdown you can’t really go out to meet new people; however, there is another way to meet them. That way is with online multiplayer games you can get on your Switch, computer, or phone. In this article, you’ll learn about those games and a quick overview of these games.
The first game I’ll like to talk about is called Among Us. Among Us is a multiplayer sci-fi murder mystery, where your fellow players and you complete tasks to keep your spaceship in one peace. It costs $5 on Steam and is free for mobile users. However, be careful, because you have some alien invaders onboard. One to three crewmates will be replaced with parasitic shapeshifters called imposters, who are tasked with killing the crew members before they get home. The imposters will have to sabotage the ship, deceive, frame, and sneak through vents. While they are fixing the ship no one is allowed to talk. Once a body has been reported, the surviving crew and the imposters are allowed to discuss with one another with who they think is the traitor. This continues until all crew members die, all imposters die, or when the ship is fully fixed. It’s a super fun game filled with action, suspense, and laughs.
While playing the game as an imposter, Jasmine Seiffert agonized that “every time I get out of a vent someone comes all the way from Africa and sees me”.
The second game actually just recently came out and is a remake of another game. That game is called Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, and it costs $30 for the switch and is free for mobile users. This game’s genre is an Action Role-Playing Game, which has you go around the world with teammates collecting myrrh, a material that powers up a village’s protecting crystal. The main game mechanic is going through levels with friends; however, you can’t go too far from the person holding the chalice, or else you’ll take damage; but, you’ll teleport back to the chalice when you are on one heart. The chalice is used to carry the myrrh around and is also used to go through certain obstacles.
The final game makes people angry and is the cause of many grudges. UNO, as most people know, is a very competitive game that costs $10 on the computer, $6 for the real-life card game, and free for mobile users. This game revolves around taking turns to get rid of your cards. The purpose of this game is to get zero cards. You can give cards to the next person, or add on more cards to give to the next person. This game, however, can cause lots of yelling and friendships can be broken in the process of playing this game. You can play UNO on multiple devices, and on multiple platforms. Some platforms that provide this game include Steam, Game Pigeon on IOS, and other phone apps.
Even though you can’t see your friends’ thanks to the pandemic you can still “hang out” with them. By downloading games on your computer, phone, or even switch if you have one, you can play with your friends or with complete strangers.
