The Academic Decathlon team competed in the Los Angeles County competition over the past two weekends. The six-member team consists of Captain Claire Liang, Ryan Chan, Justin Wang, Tianyuan Pei, Phillip Chen, and Derek Chang. The students won a total of 13 individual medals. Claire Liang medaled as our top-scoring decathlete, finishing in the top 20 among over 350 students. Claire won a gold medal in science, silver medals in essay and literature, and bronze medals in art and math. Ryan won a gold medal in interview and a silver medal in math. Phillip won a silver medal in essay and a bronze medal in math. Justin won a gold medal in math and a bronze medal in interview. Thanks to all their teachers who helped prepare them for success.
