The Girls Water Polo team has been working towards a great season, and on Jan. 9, the Varsity team went against Burbank in an intense head-to-head game, winning the game with a score of 6-5. At first glance, Burbank seemed like a tough opponent with their strong offense and teamwork. However, Arcadia strengthened their defense and was able to win against Burbank. In the first half of the game, the scores were always tied with one team scoring and the other right after. However, in the last half, the game intensified. The third quarter ended with a score of 4-4 and in the first minute of the fourth quarter, Arcadia scored a goal. Despite Arcadia’s attempts, Burbank also managed to score a point leaving the score to be 5-5 until the Apaches received a penalty shot which brought the score at 6-5. Arcadia managed to prevent Burbank from scoring another goal until the end of the fourth quarter, leaving the final score to be 6-5 in the end. With the recent win, we hope that the Lady Apaches will be able to win more games throughout their season.
