Yes, you heard that right. On Mar. 19, it was announced that 32-year-old trending singer Lizzo is currently working with Amazon Studios to create a brand-new reality competition series in search of “big grrrls.” Known for her high spirits, the body positivity icon is famous for songs such as “Good as Hell,” “Truth Hurts,” and “Juice,” and has also received many prestigious titles and Grammy Awards. 

Based on their website, they are looking to cast “full figured dancers and models who have for far too long been underrepresented and under-appreciated.” The winner of the competition will join Lizzo’s team and perform with the Hustlers stars on tour, which is a dream come true for many!

“Where are all the big girls? That’s what I wanna know. So, me and Amazon are gonna find out. I’m developing an unscripted show with Amazon to find my next crew of big girl dancers and models,” Lizzo recently said on her Instagram stories. 

She captioned another video with, “I BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE! Are you a full figured dancer or model? Have you felt underrepresented and under appreciated? THEN I’M LOOKIN FOR YOU! It’s time to find my dream team of beautifully talented big grrrls and @amazonstudios is helping ya grrrl on this journey!”

While sorting out the application process, Amazon has shared that the show will take viewers through a competition series to find dynamic, full-figured dancers and models to perform on stage and on the runway with Lizzo, who is producing and developing the show. 

“Lizzo is one of the most exciting, creative, joyful artists in the industry, and it is such a pleasure to announce this new deal with her… She has such a unique perspective and we’re so excited to hear her ideas for new content that our Prime Video customers are sure to love,” said Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon Studios. 

What have the fans had to say about this? So far, the feedback and buzz has all been positive, with anxious comments from numerous celebrities and followers who are all ready to apply, show their happiness about the concept, or congratulate Lizzo on this collaboration.

The website states, “Please do not put off filling out this application. Our casting process is quick so we want to hear from you TODAY!”
